\u201cOur only solution will be regulation, and that regulation will be foisted on us by a government desperate to \u201cdo something\u201d in the face of disaster.\u00a0In this article I want to outline the problems, both technical and political, and point to some regulatory solutions. Regulation might be a dirty word in today\u2019s political climate, but security is the exception to our small-government bias. And as the threats posed by computers become greater and more catastrophic, regulation will be inevitable. So now\u2019s the time to start thinking about it.\u00a0We also need to reverse the trend to connect everything to the internet.<\/strong> And if we risk harm and even death, we need to think twice about what we connect and what we deliberately leave uncomputerized.\u00a0If we get this wrong, the computer industry will look like the pharmaceutical industry, or the aircraft industry. But if we get this right, we can maintain the innovative environment of the internet that has given us so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

In diesem Artikel m\u00f6chte ich die technischen und politischen Probleme umrei\u00dfen und einige regulatorische L\u00f6sungen aufzeigen. Regulierung mag im heutigen politischen Klima ein Schimpfwort sein, aber Sicherheit ist die Ausnahme von unserer Vorliebe f\u00fcr kleine Regierungen. Und da die von Computern ausgehenden Bedrohungen immer gr\u00f6\u00dfer und katastrophaler werden, ist eine Regulierung unumg\u00e4nglich. Deshalb ist es jetzt an der Zeit, dar\u00fcber nachzudenken.<\/p>\n

Wir m\u00fcssen auch den Trend umkehren, alles mit dem Internet zu verbinden. Und wenn wir Schaden und sogar den Tod riskieren, m\u00fcssen wir zweimal dar\u00fcber nachdenken, was wir anschlie\u00dfen und was wir absichtlich uncomputert lassen.<\/p>\n

Wenn wir das falsch machen, wird die Computerindustrie so aussehen wie die Pharmaindustrie oder die Flugzeugindustrie. Aber wenn wir es richtig anpacken, k\u00f6nnen wir das innovative Umfeld des Internets, das uns so viel gegeben hat, erhalten.<\/p>\n
