\u201cOur only solution will be regulation, and that regulation will be foisted on us by a government desperate to \u201cdo something\u201d in the face of disaster.\u00a0In this article I want to outline the problems, both technical and political, and point to some regulatory solutions. Regulation might be a dirty word in today\u2019s political climate, but security is the exception to our small-government bias. And as the threats posed by computers become greater and more catastrophic, regulation will be inevitable. So now\u2019s the time to start thinking about it.\u00a0We also need to reverse the trend to connect everything to the internet.<\/strong> And if we risk harm and even death, we need to think twice about what we connect and what we deliberately leave uncomputerized.\u00a0If we get this wrong, the computer industry will look like the pharmaceutical industry, or the aircraft industry. But if we get this right, we can maintain the innovative environment of the internet that has given us so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tamb\u00e9m precisamos de inverter a tend\u00eancia para ligar tudo \u00e0 Internet. E se nos arriscamos a sofrer danos e at\u00e9 mesmo a morrer, precisamos de pensar duas vezes sobre o que ligamos e o que deixamos deliberadamente n\u00e3o computorizado.<\/p>\n

Se o fizermos mal, a ind\u00fastria inform\u00e1tica assemelhar-se-\u00e1 \u00e0 ind\u00fastria farmac\u00eautica ou \u00e0 ind\u00fastria aeron\u00e1utica. Mas se o fizermos corretamente, poderemos manter o ambiente inovador da Internet que tanto nos deu\".<\/p>\n
